No Phone Calls * * * Job Title: Welder - Fabricator Job Type: Full-time, 1st Shift (Monday-Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm) Location: Fisher, IL. Position Summary: This position is responsible for welding and fabricating parts according to blueprint specification. The welder will fit and weld steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metal parts using a MIG/TIG/FLUX and/or Stick process. Set-up, adjust and prepare punch/laser combinations of jobs. Key Responsibilities: • Joins and repairs metal and other welding materials; using appropriate welding techniques: MIG/TIG/STICK/FLUX • Utilize measuring equipment such as tape measures, rulers, calipers, micrometers to ensure quality work • Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on materials or workpiece as guides for welding • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to blueprint specifications, using precision measuring instruments • Operates and observes to detect malfunctions or non-conforming conditions and adjusts machine controls as required Required Qualifications: Education & Experience: • TIG welding: 3 years (Required) • MIG welding: 3 years (Preferred) • sheet metal: 1 year (Preferred) • Fabrication: 1 year (Preferred) • Welding Certification (Preferred) Skills & Competencies: • Strong mechanical knowledge and manufacturing experience • Proficiency in welding Work Environment: • Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. • Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection required. • May involve repetitive tasks and physical activity throughout the shift. Physical Requirements: • Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 50lbs., and perform repetitive motions. • Frequent bending, reaching, and manual handling of sheet metal materials. • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
