Purpose of Position

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Computer Systems Technician installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots computer equipment on simulators both in house and onsite.

Tasks and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

The Computer Systems Technician works within the production department to gain, understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer systems. Performs routine aspects and progresses to more varied and complex activities with development of additional knowledge and experience. Participates in subject matter training as required to gain skills.

· Assembly and integration of equipment cabinets and subsystems on production devices.

· Installation of software on the production devices.

· In house visual support of production devices.

· Modify procedures under supervision of lead.

· Support site installation of production devices. Travel is required.

Minimum Education

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· Associates degree in related field

Minimum Experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS

· CompTIA A+ or higher certification - required

· Valid Driver’s License, where applicable

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· One to four years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Basic to intermediate knowledge of the inner workings of a PC

· Ability to change user serviceable parts

· Intermediate knowledge of Windows OS and Server OS

· PC, Workstation, Laptop, Server, peripherals, common PC buss hardware, networking basics.

· Basic knowledge of hand tools.

· Be able to interpret drawings.

· Able to read and interpret documents

· Able to apply concepts of basic algebra
