Job Title: Forklift DriverStarting Pay Rate: $21.50(after 90 days $22.00, after 6 months $22.50)Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with mandatory overtime as neededReports To: Paint Supervisor Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Forklift Driver to join our team. The Forklift Driver is a safety-sensitive position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of powered industrial vehicles to transport materials throughout the facility. This role requires continuous equipment operation, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying conditions.Responsibilities:Continuously sit while driving and operating a forklift during shift. Safely transport materials throughout the facility using powered industrial vehicles Empty trash dumpsters using a forkliftWork both indoors and outdoors moving product; may be exposed to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, and rainOccasionally climb in and out of forklift (20-inch first step, 10-inch second step)Use both hands for safe forklift operation, including steering and right-hand lever controls; constant right-foot pedal use requiredMaintain full range of motion of neck and spine to look behind while reversing and to look up and down when moving productChange a 45-pound propane cylinder mounted up to 50 inches high on the forklift once per shiftOperate forklifts during all shifts, including nights; must be able to see clearly in low-light or dark conditionsMeet visual requirement of 20/40 vision with correctionMaintain certification in forklift Shift is 8 hours. May work overtime up to 10-12 hours. Two 10-minute breaks/ shift and 20-minute meal break. Employees get paid the entire time they are clocked in and do not clock out for breaks, if taken on campus! Qualifications: Must be able to communicate in EnglishMust be able to demonstrate understanding health and safety compliance training programs and departmental work instructions that are written in EnglishUse of basic hand tools such as wrenches and pliersHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment Physical Demands: Must wear safety toe boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety vest Must be able to use both hands for safe operation of forklift. Steering wheel with levers controlled by right hand. Constant pedaling with right footOperator must have full range of motion of the neck and spine so that operator can look behind forklift while driving backwards and look up and down with moving productsRegular pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting above head and below shoulder levelFrequent exposure to moving mechanical parts Work Environment: The work environment is representative of conditions typical for a manufacturing facility. Guardian West is not a climate-controlled facility. Safety precautions must always be followed to reduce exposure to hazardsExposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and loud environmentsOccasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration
