They provide non-medical, supportive care to clients, making it possible for older adults to live in their homes for as long as possible.Your Role as a HomeCare Assistant: You’ll help clients with tasks they can no longer manage comfortably based on a specific care plan, including:• Groceries, meal prep, laundry, and cleaning• Driving clients to appointments or the store (reliable vehicle required)• Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, transferring, supervision, and medication reminders per the care plan• Providing positive companionshipDocumentation and Reporting:• Record daily tasks completed• Report changes in clients’ function, mental health, or cognitive status to your supervisor• Report unsafe or unhealthy elements in the living environmentParticipate in staff meetings and trainings; follow robust procedures and guidelines.Who You Are: The Ideal Candidate• Interest in working with older adults• High school diploma, GED, or at least one year of directly related experience (CNAs are a great fit)• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and appropriate insurance to transport clients• Can work at least 10 hours per week during business hours• Cordial, professional, flexible, organized, efficient, respectful of diverse needs• Can read and write for necessary record-keeping; accessible by phone• Can complete the HomeCare Assistant training program successfully• Can successfully complete a background check per Illinois Department of Public Health regulations (Health Care Worker Background Check Act and Code)The Family Service Culture: Family-focused, service oriented, humble and diligent workplace; thorough training; equal opportunity employer.The Package• Hourly rate of $18.75; $19.25 for those with a CNA• 12 paid holidays per year• PTO starts accruing at hire (max bank 200 hours); usable after 90 days• Life insuranceIf we’re describing you, send us your resumé and cover letter.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $18.75 - $19-25 per hourBenefits: Flexible schedule, Life insurance, Mileage reimbursement, Paid orientation, Paid time off, Paid training, Safety equipment providedWork Location: In person
