Your Crucial Role in Caring for the Carers: Helping ease the stress of day-to-day caregiving for unpaid caregivers and grandparents raising grandchildren. The State of Illinois offers a Caregiver Advisory service to build knowledge and skills, navigate services, access resources, and reduce caregiver stress. Our Caregiver Advisor supports caregivers of older adults residing in Champaign or Piatt County. Your Role: Make contacts with organizations in Champaign & Piatt Counties to build a robust referral network; find ways to connect with potential clients (social media, in-person events); provide clients with information and assistance on services; deliver instruction and training in workshops and in-home meetings; develop and implement support groups for caregivers and grandparents raising grandchildren; work with grandparents on school navigation, technology, behavior, and grief issues; be a listening ear and reliable support who checks in and follows up. Training and strong team support provided. Who You Are: Ideally a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; high school graduates with 5+ years of relevant experience with aging or youth populations encouraged to apply. Abilities: cordial and friendly professionalism; casework understanding and proper documentation; organized and efficient with minimal supervision; respectful of diverse lifestyles and needs; reliable transportation and ability to meet clients at home, school, or public locations; able to pass a background check (per DCFS-related restrictions). The Package: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour, full-time (37.5 hours/week), 12 paid holidays, vacation accrual after 90 days (max 200 hours). Work Location: In person.
