Join Our Team: HomeCare Assistant, Senior Resource Center at Family Service. Effective Date: Immediately.Overcoming One of the Biggest Challenges in Advanced Aging: Living Independently. Our HomeCare Assistants offer a middle-ground solution, providing non-medical, supportive care that helps older adults live at home as long as possible.Your Role as a HomeCare Assistant: Help with groceries, meal prep, laundry, and cleaning; drive clients to appointments or the store (reliable vehicle required); assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, transferring, supervision, and medication reminders per the care plan; provide positive, uplifting companionship. Document tasks completed daily; observe and report changes in clients’ function, mental health, or cognition; report unsafe or unhealthy living conditions. Participate in staff meetings and trainings.Who You Are: Interest in working with older adults; high school diploma, GED, or at least one year of directly related experience (CNAs are a great fit). Abilities: reliable vehicle with valid driver’s license and insurance; availability for at least 10 hours/week during business hours; cordial and friendly professionalism; flexibility; organized and efficient; respectful of diverse needs; can read/write for record-keeping; accessible by phone; can complete HomeCare Assistant training; can pass background check and meet Illinois Department of Public Health licensure regulations.The Family Service Culture: Family-focused and strongly service-oriented environment.The Package: Hourly rate of $15; $15.50 for CNAs. 12 paid holidays per year. PTO accrues at hire (max 200 hours) and can be taken after 90 days. Life insurance. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time. Pay: $18.00–$18.50 per hour.
