Join Our Team: Family Caregiver Advocate (Champaign & Piatt Counties). Effective Date: Immediately. This role supports unpaid caregivers and grandparents raising grandchildren by helping them build knowledge and skills, navigate services, access resources, and reduce caregiver stress. As our Caregiver Advisor, you’ll be a key member of the Senior Resource Center staff with variety and opportunities for creativity. Responsibilities: build a robust referral network in Champaign & Piatt Counties; find ways to connect with potential clients (social media, in-person events); provide information and assistance about available services; deliver instruction and training in workshops and in-home meetings; develop and implement support groups for caregivers and grandparents raising grandchildren; work with grandparents on challenges (school navigation, technology, behavior, grief); provide ongoing support and follow-up. You’ll receive robust training and support. Ideal Candidate: Knowledge/experience in children’s services (education, CASA, DCFS, or similar) helpful; willingness to learn about social services for children. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s in social work or related field preferred; HS graduates with 5+ years relevant experience (aging or youth) encouraged to apply. Abilities: cordial and professional client interaction; understanding of casework and documentation; organized and efficient with minimal supervision; respectful of diverse backgrounds; reliable transportation with ability to meet clients in homes/schools/third places; can pass required background checks.
