ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Counseling Center at Family Service is a mental health refuge for many in our community: We have a highly reputable counseling staff, are affordable, and accept a wide range of insurance plans (including Medicaid). The Clinical Supervisor shoulders the task of maintaining our reputation and growing our reach while overseeing counseling staff and offering clinical therapy to clients.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS CLINICAL SUPERVISOR• Provide direct/clinical counseling services to families, couples, individuals, and groups• Provide clinical supervision to counseling staff and interns• Assist with preparation of reports and monitoring contract compliance• Assist the Program Director with selection, orientation, training, and general supervision of counseling staff and interns• Perform quality control (peer reviews, etc.) to ensure trauma-informed care and cultural competency• Serve as liaison with University of Illinois School of Social Work and other schools for placement/training of MSW (or related) students• Support marketing/outreach; attend community, regional, and state meetings/eventsWHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN YOUR CLINICAL THERAPIST ROLE• Perform intake assessments; provide information, referrals, and advocacy• Provide comprehensive, culturally competent, goal-oriented therapy to individuals, families, couples, and groups• Prepare for counseling sessions; plan/facilitate therapy groups as needed• Write timely case notes, clinical reports, and other paperwork• Participate in supervisory, staff, and committee meetingsWHAT OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE LOOKS LIKE• Supervisory experience with professionalism in difficult conversations• Organized & independent; meets deadlines; maintains organized physical/digital presence; keeps up with case notes and treatment plans• Relational; comfortable speaking to the public and making outreach calls• Willing to travel locally for presentations/meetings• Team player in a fast-paced, client-first environmentEDUCATION & TRAININGMaster’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling, plus advanced clinical licensure/certification (e.g., LCSW, LCPC, LMFT).OTHER DETAILS• Maintain all required certificates/licensure• Handle other tasks as assigned• Must pass background check; DCFS/IDOA indicated/substantiated individuals are not eligible for employment in the Counseling and Advocacy ProgramARE YOU THIS PERSON?If we’re describing you, send your resumé and cover letter.Job Type: Full-time | Pay: $36/hour | Expected hours: 37.5/week | Schedule: Mon–Fri, occasional evenings/weekends | Work Location: In person.
