JOB TITLE: Human Resource Director
JOB SUMMARY: The primary duty of the Human Resource Director is to lead and support the key company programs of hiring, retention, personnel records, performance evaluations, legal compliance, benefits administration, worker’s compensation, and incentive programs. The HR Director is responsible for leading and directing the staff of the HR Department including Hiring and Benefits Manager, HR Coordinator and Office Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Oversees the overall hiring and retention efforts of the company. Assists the Branch Managers and Hiring Managers by providing feedback on hiring trends, turnover results, and recruiting ideas.
• Supervises the duties of the Hiring and Benefits Manager, HR Coordinator and Office Manager including training, prioritizing, coaching, motivating and evaluating.
• Works closely with Managers and provides guidance on disciplinary and coaching issues. Ensures Managers are applying ESS policies fairly and consistently.
• Manages employee complaints and grievances. Works with Managers and associates to resolve employee complaints. Consults with ESS Clean legal counsel on complex issues.
• Ensure that personnel records such as employee files, documentation, promotions, disciplinary actions, I9’s, attendance records are maintained, accurate and follow government regulations.
• Handle all Unemployment claims from the Illinois and Indiana Department of Employment Security. Responsible for all paperwork filed, appeals, interviews and hearings.
• Oversees all Worker’s Compensations claims. Files proper documentation, follows up with our vendor and acts as a liaison for our associates.
• Acts a first point of contact on Employee leaves such as FMLA, non-FMLA, Short Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability. Advises Managers on these policies.
• Partners with and assist the COO and Branch Managers on compliance on drug screening compliance programs. Manages all random drug and alcohol tests.
• Manages and assists on all Employee incentive programs such as Annual events, anniversary awards, year end awards, and Safety week.
• Oversee and assist in all company benefit programs including annual open enrollment and required legal compliance.
• Responsible for all legal compliance reporting related to employment such as OSHA
report and 1095c’s.
• Update the employee handbook, Orientation materials and training materials as needed. Creates and updates employee policies with the Executive team as warranted.
