Summary/Objective: To install electrical systems to company standards while providing the customer with a high-quality experience. Can work on electrical installs and remodels unassisted and unsupervised.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years residential retro experience
- Must pass drug and background screens
- Valid driver’s license and insurable through company insurance carrier
- Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing
- Possess tools necessary to perform work at Install Level 3
- Ability to work with tools used in the job in a safe manner
- Construction background knowledge
- Knowledge of basic wiring upgrades (high & low voltage)
- Expanded code knowledge
- Expert knowledge of multi-Meter
- Able to complete HVAC, Plumbing & minor electrical installs
- Minor warranty calls
- Major installation with Sr. Technician assisting
- Basic generator knowledge
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude always.
- Maintains required levels of truck stock items.
- Utilize all safety precautions and wear appropriate safety equipment at all times.
- Clean truck as needed, including exterior washing and interior cleanings. Vehicles should be kept free of trash, debris, unused food, and drink. The vehicle interior should be swept free from excess dirt. Vehicle interior compartments should hold all tools and equipment, keeping the floor area free from falling and/or rolling items.
- Operate company vehicle following all Safety standards and applicable laws
- Properly use all tools and ladders in a safe manner
- Follow instructions from the supervisor in a timely manner o Immediately report any problems with company tools or vehicles to the office.
- Work well with customers, co-workers, and other subcontractors.
- Properly prepare the job site using drop cloths, moving furniture or obstructions, and prepare surface areas using floor protectors.
- Clean job site. The job site should be picked up and left in a condition better or equivalent to that when we arrived. This includes moving all trash and debris, sweeping or vacuuming the site, and removing all tools, parts, and equipment.
- Properly install boxes per blueprints and building codes. Communicate with the lead installer to install boxes outside of blueprint specifications to meet owner requests.
- Properly drill holes as instructed by the lead installer.
- Properly run Romex from the panel to the specified box location as instructed by the lead installer.
- Properly run low-voltage cables from the media panel to the specified box location as instructed by the lead installer.
- Ability to read and follow basic blueprints and building codes
- Ability to understand and install branch circuits to meet National Electric Code (NEC)
- Have an understanding of how to read a voltage meter
- Ability to accurately count up material on a project
- Ability to complete electrical trim out in a house with minor supervision. This also requires lists of missing material/what’sleft to complete per job.

- Properly install and replace the whip (HVAC and Plumbing).
- Properly install and replace the GFCI disconnect box.
- Properly install and replace gas/cold water bond – open access.
- Properly install and replace small/medium junction boxes.
- Properly install and replace the under-cabinet fixture with wiring (no switch).
- Properly install and replace under cabinet light fixture.
- Properly install and replace fluorescent fixtures without a switch.
- Properly install and replace lighting outlet – attic access.

- Electrical panel maintenance/tune-up.

- Smart home basic programming.
- Properly Install outdoor light fixtures without a switch.
- Pick up parts, supplies, and equipment from distributors in company vehicle as needed or required.
- Complete necessary processes to support invoices, estimates, purchase orders, inventory, timecards, and other information provided to customers, coworkers, and supervisors as needed.
- Proficient in laying out material and providing instructions to the installation crew.
- Ability to understand all residential circuits.
- Have a full understanding of the residential code.
- Can answer all homeowner on-site questions.
- Makes sure that all work is high-quality and done to code.
- Good understanding of job layout, design, and organized installation of standard electrical work.
- Can answer all questions during job site training.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical spec sheets without manager's help.

Work Environment: The environment consists of extreme variations due to conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, wet, wind, sunlight, absence of light, insects, animals, mammals, reptiles, and other conditions deemed by the work site.
Physical Demands: Reaching, bending, stooping, walking, sitting, crawling, squatting. Holding, carrying objects, and lifting – including heavy objects such as equipment up to 300 pounds. Use of tools and equipment such as hand tools and ladders including extension ladders. Must be able to work in small, confined workspaces such as attics and crawl spaces for extended periods.
