Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager should be comfortable discussing structured cabling, fiber optics, network infrastructure, CCTV, access control, service work, monitoring opportunities, and preconstruction/design support at a high level. This role requires strong communication skills, follow-through, and the ability to coordinate internally with estimating, operations, project management, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and government sectors
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads
· Serve as a professional point of contact for prospective and existing clients.
- Build relationships with general contractors, IT directors, facilities managers, and consultants
- Conduct needs assessments and recommend technology solutions tailored to client requirements
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop accurate proposals and estimates
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and RFP responses
· Qualify leads to determine project fit, timing, budget, decision-makers, and required next steps.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets
- Maintain CRM records, forecasts, and activity tracking
- Provide regular reporting on KPIs
- Research target industries and accounts to support D1’s growth strategy.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and competitor offerings
- Other duties as assigned

- Low voltage service and maintenance

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3–7+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in low voltage, construction, or technology sectors
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
- Strong understanding of low voltage systems and construction processes
- Experience working with contractors, architects, and IT stakeholders
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, NFPA)
- Experience with design-build or bid-spec environments
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Established network within target markets

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary starting at $70,000.00 annually + commission/bonus structure
- Mileage reimbursement
