Job Title Assistant Director, Crisis & Family Support Position Summary The Assistant Director, Crisis & Family Support provides leadership and oversight for the organization’s crisis response and family support services. Serves as the primary contact for families in crisis, providing targeted case management to stabilize situations and transition families to ongoing support services. This role also serves as part of the on-call supervisor rotation. Reports To: Executive Director Supervises: Program Office Coordinator, Crisis Support Specialists Salary: $60K+ Key Responsibilities Family Support & Crisis Management - Provide guidance and oversight for families in crisis, offering assessment, intervention, and stabilization services.
- Manage a caseload of up to 10 families, partnering with them to address immediate challenges and connecting them to ongoing support that promotes child safety, family stability, and long-term well-being.
- Ensure high-quality, compassionate, and trauma-informed services for all families.
Staff Supervision & Support - Supervise the Program Office Coordinator and Crisis Support Specialists, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Support staff in applying best practices in crisis response, family support, and trauma-informed care.
- Act as the on-call supervisor as assigned, ensuring leadership coverage and staff support during evenings, weekends, or other designated periods.
- Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
Program Administration & Operations - Ensure program compliance with organizational policies, licensing standards, and best practices.
- Support staff scheduling, coverage, and resource allocation to meet program needs and family demands.
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and program evaluation to inform leadership and funders.
Community Engagement & Collaboration - Build and maintain relationships with community partners, agencies, and stakeholders to enhance family support resources.
- Serve as a representative of Crisis Nursery in meetings, coalitions, and community events.
- Collaborate with other program areas to ensure integrated service delivery for families.
Qualifications - Be at least 25 years of age
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in crisis intervention, family support, or social services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience providing direct case management and/or crisis intervention services.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, family stabilization practices, and community resources.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to support staff while actively serving families.
