ClarkLindsey is seeking an outgoing, friendly, compassionate Licensed Cosmetologist to provide salon services for residents three days per week.
The successful candidate for this position will be skilled in services such as haircuts, permanents, shampoos, wash/set/style, manicures, pedicures, beard trims, and other services that have been approved.
The Stylist will:
- Have an interest in making a difference in the lives of older adults by genuine contributing to their wellbeing.
- Perform salon services for all residents who desire such service, in accordance with accepted cosmetology standards, and to the satisfaction of clients (residents).
- Maintain a current Illinois cosmetology license, and remain in good standing.
- Maintain a safe, efficient and adequately supplied environment by cleaning, arranging, supplying and generally maintaining and ambiance of service, cleanliness, and style in the salons at ClarkLindsey.
- Demonstrate a service attitude, including professionalism and compassion for all residents desiring services.
- Communicate effectively with residents, support staff such as business office or care providers, and the interdisciplinary team responsible for overall resident wellbeing and safety.
Applicants should have experience with scheduling, billing, purchasing, marketing, and up-keep of a salon. This position requires self-scheduling of appointments, and requires self-direction and motivation, and independent decision making in day-to-day matters.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to become a part of the lives of residents, by performing the desired services at a high level of quality and competence, in a warm and friendly way.
Open Position
- This is a part-time position with benefits, including paid time off, as well as access to health, dental, vision, and more.
- The schedule will likely be three days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
- At the end of 2025, this position will be come full-time.
- Compensation is determined based on 50% of the salon service charges during any given pay period.

Job Requirements

Per the Illinois Department of Public Health, all team members must receive the annual influenza vaccine (exemption requests will be reviewed). We also encourage team members to get the latest COVID-19 vaccine.
- Valid Illinois Cosmetology license in good standing required.
- Minimum of two years of experience desired, preferably with some older adult clients
- Must be able to bend, stand for long periods of time, reach, and carry medium loads (20-40 pounds occasionally).
- Must be able to safely push, pull and maneuver residents in a wheelchair.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language.
- Must abide by ClarkLindsey’s HIPAA privacy and security rules as described in the Employee handbook.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the general public.
