Circle of Friends Adult Day Center in Champaign has been assisting older adults and their families since 1997. This Center provides rich socialization and engagement programming to older adults throughout the day, in a friendly, neighborhood environment. Circle of Friends is open Monday - Friday, and shifts are available between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm.
Position Summary
Circle of Friends offers Full-time, Part-time and PRN positions.
Circle of Friends is seeking a Care Professional to provide friendly and compassionate assistance with activities of daily living to the participants of the Center. This role will be responsible for monitoring the health and well-being, and supporting the overall care team, to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
This position does not require CNA certification, however CNAs are welcome to apply. Ideal candidates will have a genuine interest in providing the highest quality, compassionate care to participants. Experience working in an environment that supports older adults preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participant Care.
Assist participants with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and eating.
Assist with mobility and transfers according to Circle of Friends policies.
Provide companionship and support to participants, fostering a positive and engaging environment.
2. Health Monitoring.
Monitor vital signs.
Observe and report any changes in health or behavior.
Assist in implementing care plans and interventions.
Maintain a clean and safe environment.
3. Activity Assistance
Assist with planning, supporting and participating in recreational and therapeutic activities.
Provide one-on-one interaction and engagement with participants during activities.
4. Documentation.
Accurately document care using an electronic health record system.
5. Team Collaboration.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, social workers, and activity coordinators to provide comprehensive care.
Participate in team meetings and required training.
Communicate effectively with participants, families, co-workers and leadership to ensure continuity of care.
6. Compliance.
Adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations, including HIPAA privacy and confidentiality, infection control and safety.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a caregiving or healthcare role, preferably in geriatrics or adult day services setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
Dedication to and enthusiasm for compassionate, high-quality care is required.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records required.
Ability to adapt to different environments and work well with those living with cognitive and physical challenges required.
CPR and First Aide certification preferred.
Serv-safe certification preferred.
Valid Illinois drivers license and valid vehicle insurance coverage required. Access to a personal vehicle required to perform job duties.
