Our newest addition, MeadowLark Memory Care Catered Living, is dedicated to providing specialized care for individuals with dementia, incorporating the Montessori Approach to Dementia Care to promote independence and quality of life.

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Memory Care Program Coordinator to join our Resident Engagement Team . In this role, you will provide personalized engagement and support to residents with dementia, utilizing the principles of the Montessori Approach to Dementia Care. In addition to directly engaging with residents, you will also have responsibilities for training employees and educating the community on best practices in dementia care.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Resident Engagement Team to develop and provide personalized engagement and support to residents with dementia using the Montessori Approach to Dementia Care , fostering independence and dignity.

- Implement the Montessori Approach to Dementia Care in Meadowlark Memory Care Catered Living.

- Develop and lead continuing education for ClarkLindsey employees on dementia care practices, emphasizing the importance of empathy, dignity , and person-centered care.

- Educate the community on dementia awareness and the benefits of the Montessori Approach to Dementia Care through workshops, presentations, and outreach events.

- Stay updated on the latest research and developments in dementia care, integrating new knowledge into practice to continuously improve the quality of care provided.

  • This is a full-time position
  • Hours are generally 9:00am - 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. Working two weekend days per month is required, with an adjacent week having a weekday off.

Qualifications
  • Per the Illinois Department of Public Health, all team members must receive the annual influenza vaccine (exemption requests will be reviewed). We also encourage team members to get the latest COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in social work , psychology, gerontology, or a related field .

  • Previous experience working with older adults required, preferably individuals with dementia in a memory care setting.

  • Understanding of the Montessori Approach to Dementia Care and its application in senior living communities is a plus .

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to compassionately interact with residents, families, and staff members.

  • Must be able to use technology (i.e. Microsoft products) to complete job functions including reporting, documenting and communicating. Must have a level of understanding to teach others how to optimally use technology.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
