Position Summary

The Community Life Coordinator plays a key role in creating meaningful experiences that foster connection, purpose and well-being throughout ClarkLindsey’s continuum of care. The role blends program leadership, relationship-building and operational coordination to ensure programming meets the department’s high-quality, resident-centered, consistent and compliant standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and lead a wide variety of programming that touches on physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual wellness. This includes daily opportunities, special events, educational offerings, and outings.

• Create and manage monthly calendars, ensuring effective communication of events.

• Coordinate room reservations, logistics, setup and supplies for all programs.

• Evaluate program effectiveness and adjust as needed.

• Support resident-led initiatives, councils, and group activities.

• Assist with transportation for outings and off-site programs as needed.

• Build meaningful relationships through group and one-on-one interactions.

• Represent Community Life at events and serve as an ambassador for resident engagement.

• Collaborate with teams across our campus to enhance experiences.

• Document participation and outcomes. Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences. Maintain organized records, schedules, and program documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience within the geriatric and healthcare settings preferred.

• Three years of experience in programming for social agencies or organizations in direct service to older adults.

• Friendly, compassionate, adaptable, and professional. Strong organization, communication, and follow through skills necessary.

• Knowledge of methods, techniques, equipment and philosophy, and objectives of wellness programs designed for older adults. Experience in one-on-one and group recreation, activities, or work in a senior living community (or related field) preferred.

• Ability to plan and lead a wide variety of physical, cognitive, spiritual, social, and creative activities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems is required.

• Valid Illinois driver's license required.

• CPR Certification required.

Work Environment & Requirements

• This role requires frequent movement as well as sitting/office work.

• Must be able to lift, carry, bend, and assist with resident mobility as needed.

• This position requires occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• We have a dynamic department that welcomes participation from residents, families, and staff.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.65 - $24.00 per hour. Company-wide bonuses equaling up to 2% of salary are available based on performance, generally in the spring and fall each year.
