ClarkLindsey, East Central Illinois’ premier retirement community, seeks an experienced, friendly, service-minded, and safe driver to provide transportation for residents.
Previous experience as a driver of passengers is required for this position. As a driver, you will perform a variety of transportation services: provide safe and courteous chauffeured medical transportation to and from hospitals and clinics, as well as transportation to errands such as grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, etc., or providing transportation to special events and activities using a fleet of ClarkLindsey owned vehicles that range from a car up to a small event bus.
Attention to detail, timeliness, good conversationalist, and genuine interest in being of service to older adults required for this position.
For this position, it is necessary to push residents who require a wheelchair, bent and stoop to secure residents as necessary, and to walk from parking areas into and around clinics, offices, stores, etc. Previous experience with transporting people is required. The ability to use navigation to locate buildings and addresses around the Champaign-Urbana area for on-time, stress-free transportation is necessary. The ability to calmly and professionally handle any situation that arises is critical for this customer service position.
Cross train on Concierge Desk responsibilities, such as answering phones, fielding questions from residents and guests, and mail delivery.
Benefits and Compensation
The pay range for this position is $16.60 - $18.53 per hour, and is based on experience. Bonuses equaling up to 2% of salary annually are available based on performance, generally in the spring and fall each year.

Job Requirements
Per the Illinois Department of Public Health, all team members must receive the annual influenza vaccine (exemption requests will be reviewed). We also encourage team members to get the latest COVID-19 vaccine.
Previous experience with driving passengers required.
Must be able to obtain an Illinois License Type J restriction (J05) within 1 week of hire date.
Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle, including providing assistance with entering and exiting the vehicles. Pushing wheelchairs for some distance is common in this role.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid and properly classified driver’s license issued by the Secretary of State.
- Must have had a driver’s license, not necessarily of the same classification for three years prior to the date of the application.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language.
- Must abide by ClarkLindsey’s HIPAA privacy and security rules as described in the Employee handbook.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the general public.
