ARTS COORDINATOR
POSITION SUMMARY
The Arts Coordinator advances whole-person wellbeing at ClarkLindsey through creative expression, connection, and purpose. As part of the Community Life team, this position stewards a campus-wide arts ecosystem that supports arts experiences that are meaningful, inclusive, aspirational, and aligned with ClarkLindsey’s wellness philosophy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Programming Design & Coordination (Primary)
• Design and maintain a year-round arts calendar that is aligned with ClarkLindsey’s Art Studio vision, wellness principles, and resident goals.
• Operationalize a rotating quarterly Artist in Residence model.
• Establish a structured monthly flow of opportunities, including Resident Spotlights, visiting artist classes, open studio time, and reflection sessions.
• Ensure experiences are process-based, accessible, and failure-friendly to foster creative confidence and belonging.
2. Resident Experience & Studio Culture
• Cultivate a studio atmosphere that feels emotionally safe, welcoming, and empowering.
• Foster intergenerational and community-facing experiences that reinforce residents’ legacy goals.
3. Artist in Residence Partnership
• Serve as the primary administrative and relational partner to Artists in Residence, including coordinating scheduling, space use, procuring materials, and resident communication.
• Facilitate collaboration and obtain feedback between artists and resident committees.
4. Community & Campus Partnerships
• Build collaborative relationships with University of Illinois, Parkland College, and local arts organizations.
• Coordinate guest classes, exhibitions, and cross-campus events.
5. Storytelling, Evaluation & Sustainability
• Capture resident and artist stories for philanthropy and marketing use.
• Prepare resident communication highlighting Arts programing and major initiatives.
• Track participation and satisfaction metrics.
6. Wellbeing Across the Continuum of Care
• Extend creative engagement into all care settings, adapting experiences for varied cognitive and physical abilities.
• Identify opportunities to partner with Lindsey Life Adult Day Program.
• Support legacy and keepsake creation for hospice or palliative residents, for example, creating memory books, recorded messages to family, or simple artistic expressions of meaning.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Training in, or experience in, any of the arts.
· Experience in management, arts programming, arts education, creative facilitation, or community engagement.
• Strong organizational and communication skills. Able to effectively work with a wide variety of interested stakeholders.
• Comfort in senior living environments, where residents have mixed physical and cognitive abilities.
• Passion for creative aging and wellbeing.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary range: $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience.
