ClarkLindsey, seeks the skills of an experienced Barista for ClarkLindsey's popular Bistro. The ideal barista will be an individual experienced in preparation and service of coffee, tea, alcoholic beverages, and light meals according to ClarkLindsey's quality expectations, and in compliance with Serv-Safe and BASSET certification standards. Constant, consistent customer service, attention to detail and quality standards, excellent listening skills, and the ability to follow process and procedures are all required for this busy customer-facing position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interact with customers, take and prepare orders.
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, alcoholic beverages and other beverages according to standard recipes.
- Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and disposal procedures at all times.
- Ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures at all times.
- Assist in tracking inventory and communicating stock needs to management, utilizing approved recipes and following prescribed production.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items, dietary needs, and explains information to customers and residents accurately.
- Ensure that all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Previous barista and/or café experience required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to operate espresso machines and other café equipment.
- Friendly, patient, and compassionate, with a desire to serve older adults at a quick pace.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Food handler’s certification / SERV-SAFE required. BASSET certification required.
- A combination of education, comprehension, mathematics and reasoning ability
Working Conditions
- Works in kitchen
- Moves frequently during working hours.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, etc. under all conditions/circumstances.
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns, and cuts.
- Must be able to function independently.
- Frequent standing, bending, and reaching.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Benefits and Compensation
The position pays $22.00 per hour. Bonuses equaling up to 2% of salary annually are available based on performance, generally in the spring and fall each year. Note that this position may not accept tips.
