ClarkLindsey seeks a proactive maintenance technician to provide minor repairs. Candidates should have experience with: Carpentry, Painting, Basic Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC. Experience with customer service during the course of the job is necessary. The position will be involved in troubleshooting, as well as assisting with general building upkeep - "handyman" service - to ensure a high quality environment for residents and team members.
Applicants should have a genuine interest in working with older adults, and have a high standard for their work, combined with a service-minded approach to getting things done. As much of the work will take place in the resident apartments - their home - it is necessary to embrace the qualities of friendliness and compassion while proactively and accurately carrying out a variety of maintenance requests. Successful team members are relationship-focused, and able to consider the safety, comfort and needs of the residents in every interaction.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to learn new systems, techniques, technologies and processes to help ClarkLindsey demonstrate excellence in the operation, functionality and appearance of the buildings.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.80 - $26.80 per hour and is based on experience. Bonuses equaling up to 2% of salary annually are available based on performance, generally in the spring and fall each year.

Job Requirements

  • Per the Illinois Department of Public Health, all team members must receive the annual influenza vaccine (exemption requests will be reviewed). We also encourage team members to get the latest COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Electrical background highly preferred.
  • Experience with door systems highly preferred.
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have required HVAC certification, or have the ability to attain certification by state and federal standards within six months of hire.
  • Must be able to bend, stand, reach, and exert 10 to 50 pounds of force.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language.
  • Must abide by ClarkLindsey’s HIPAA privacy and security rules as described in the Employee handbook.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and the general public.
