Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented professional looking for an opportunity to use your talents and skills supporting an emergency dispatch center? Then consider applying to be an METCAD Technician at the Metropolitan Computer Aided Dispatch Center (METCAD 9-1-1).

Responsibilities of Position

The METCAD Technician fills a critical role in our dedicated team of individuals who work to serve the community and first responders. They assist the METCAD management team by providing highly technical support related to information requests, budget, and records management.

The METCAD Technician is an expert at coordinating METCAD’s Freedom of Information Act response processes as well as information releases to public safety agencies. This requires reviewing, analyzing, and responding to multiple requests with varying deadlines in a timely and legally compliant manner and a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail. They assist METCAD management with the budget process through monitoring balances and expenditures and budget analysis and projections. They prepare financial reports for audits and state compliance so knowledge of financial concepts, principles and practices are a must. They develop and maintain record retention guidelines and file petitions for records disposal with the state. The ideal candidate will possess sound judgment, discretion, and excellent time management skills.

Required Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent supplemented by business course work and training.
• Progressively responsible experience with technical finance or records.
• Management work.
• An equivalent combination of work experience and education that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer, Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEAD), and Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in business, accounting, or a related field or specialized training or certification in information or records management or related area.
• Knowledge of financial concepts, principles, and practices related to financial projections and analysis.
• Ability to use financial or records management software systems.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines governing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and public records.
• Previous law enforcement or public records management experience.

Drug screening and criminal background check will be required. The annual starting salary range is $68,890 – $78,732, DOQ, plus an excellent fringe benefits package. Applications must be submitted online no later than Sunday, July 13, 2025.
