The HR Supervisor – Recruiting and Staffing is a new position in the HR Department and a great opportunity for the person who welcomes the prospect of building a position from the ground up.
Responsibilities of Position
The HR Supervisor – Recruiting and Staffing supervises and leads a team of two HR Specialists in the daily operations of the department in the areas of civilian and sworn recruitment and selection, classification, compensation, human resources information systems (HRIS), training, Equal Employment Opportunity, and special projects supporting talent acquisition at the City. They are the lead in developing and implementing process and systems improvements to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance and guide staff in solving complex or unique problems. Additionally, the HR Supervisor – Recruiting and Staffing oversee purchases, expenditures, HRIS, and reporting in their assigned areas of responsibility.
Required Qualifications
• Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, public administration, or a related field.
• An equivalent combination of work experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
• Progressively responsible professional experience with recruitment and selection, classification, compensation, HRIS, and/or training.
• Supervisory experience that demonstrates the ability to plan and manage the work of subordinate staff.
• Knowledge of applicable employment laws, statutes, and other regulations.Preferred Qualifications
• Professional public sector or municipal human resources work experience.
• Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM, PSHRA, or HRCI).
• Ability to interpret and apply union contract provisions and/or human resource policies.
• Experience with public safety recruitment and promotional testing.Drug screening and criminal background check will be required. The annual starting salary range is $80,082 - $91,167, DOQ, plus an excellent fringe benefits package. Applications must be submitted online no later than Sunday, July 6, 2025.
