Comprised of the Mayor, City Manager, and Deputy City Managers, CMO is the backbone of our values-driven organization, and the Administrative Services Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation and administration of this department, including the Communications Division.

Responsibilities of Position

The Administrative Services Manager is part of the City Manager’s management team responsible for a full range of administrative, analytical, financial, and personnel functions. This position supports the City Manager and Deputy City Managers with planning, coordinating and tracking special projects that may require research, evaluation, analysis; and prepares reports, recommendations, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

The Administrative Services Manager also serves as the Deputy Liquor Commissioner, responsible for the enforcement of the City Liquor Code and attends and participates in various events/meetings and on special project teams/committees as a representative of the City Manager’s Office. The Deputy Liquor Commissioner role and other duties may require occasional work outside of regularly scheduled hours, sometimes with little or no advance notice.

The Administrative Services Manager also supervises the City Manager’s administrative staff in CMO and the Communications Manager.

The successful candidate will be goal-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in communications, management, government or public administration, or related fields.
• An equivalent combination of work experience and education that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Extensive progressively responsible experience with administrative functions such as budgeting, purchasing, or project management.
• Supervisory experience that demonstrates the ability to plan and manage the work of subordinate staff.
• Experience collecting and analyzing information and preparing reports.
• The ability to attend meetings and events outside of typical work hours.
• Must be bondable.
• Current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Public Administration, Business Management, Communications, or related field.
• Communications-related coursework or training.
• Public sector budgeting or purchasing experience.

Drug screening, driving abstract, and criminal background check will be required. The starting annual salary range is $103,598 - $117,866, DOQ. Applications must be submitted online no later than Sunday, April 13, 2025.
