General Summary of Duties

Christie Clinic's department of Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time Paperwork Specialist at the Windsor clinic in Champaign from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.

Duties include filling out and/or delegating incoming paperwork to the appropriate nurse/provider. Ensure completed paperwork is sent to the appropriate individual.

Job Qualifications and Expectations

JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all the duties assigned.)

  • Process a high volume of medical forms and letter request.
  • Act as a liaison between Internal Medicine providers and patients.
  • Manage all incoming requests in the EMR for letters and forms. Fill out and distribute appropriately.
  • Document all steps taken for paperwork to be processed within the EMR.
  • Contact patient once paperwork is completed and route completed paperwork appropriately.
  • Attend and participate in monthly department meetings.
  • Cross train managing the fax server (incoming faxes into the department).
  • Receive and deliver mail across the department, take outgoing mail to the mailroom.
  • Maintain an organized work area.
  • Perform related work as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

  • Order entry

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a clinic setting and involves frequent contact with patients and exposure to communicable illnesses. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
