Overview
General Summary of Duties
Christie Clinic's department of Clinical Services is seeking a full-time Clinical Manager at the University clinic from Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, with the ability to travel between clinics, as needed.
Duties include the management of staff, delivery of patient care, and supporting activities based on direct reports, department chairs, providers, location and complexity.
An Illinois State RN license, CPR/BLS, associates degree or higher in nursing, and 5 years of healthcare experience required. Leadership or management experience is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a background with oncology, chemotherapy, infusion services/IV therapies, rheumatology, or other medical specialty services.
Job Qualifications and Expectations
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

Facilitate the organization and coordination of patient care within the departments.

Finalize annual budgets and monitor departments and division performance.

Utilize data for decision making including collecting and analyzing data.

Accountable for developing and maturing the utilization of Christie Management System.

Facilitate connections between clinical and support departments throughout the organization.

Lead weekly meeting with direct reports to review strategy and goals for the department(s)/division goals and strategy.

Act as an internal consultant to various committees and facilitate the resolution of intra-departmental issues within and outside direct reporting relationships.

Select, train, develop, coach, perform evaluations and address performance issues for direct reports. Support direct reports for team member performance related issues.

Interpret and comply with regulation, policies and procedures, which include but not limited to: completing incident reports, evaluating safety of equipment, monitoring credentialing as needed and enforcing CLIA regulations.

Create an environment that ensures proper equipment use and safe team member and patient outcomes.

Complete incident reports and initiate root cause analysis as needed.

Act as time clock manager for coordinators and for departments in coordinator absence.

Patient complaint management and reconciliation.

Expert on EMR and ability to guide team members on EMR issues.

Provide clinical oversight for the emergency response process throughout the clinic, including but not limited to Nurse Alerts and Code Blue situations. Responsibilities include policy and procedure development and maintenance, team member education/training, Nurse Alert Program maintenance, incident debriefing, and after action review.

Provide clinical oversight to vaccination clinics.

Provide clinical oversight to Therapeutic Injection and Immunization Administration programs for non-licensed personnel.

Develop education and collaborate with Learning & Development in clinical skills training, ensuring adherence to best practices.

Provide mentorship and education to clinical nursing team members.

Participate in clinical quality case reviews and lead RCA events.

Provide clinical oversite with regard to team member scope and practice.

Continuous and systematic review of hazardous drugs and departmental compliance.

Support clinical orders development within and outside of the EMR.

Serve as clinical content expert for existing and new clinically focused workflows.

As a Beacon Lead, or in partnership with Beacon Lead- Clinically develops and reviews Therapy Plans, Treatment Plans and Supportive Plans for use in Infusion Services and/or Chemotherapy Suite.

Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree or higher in nursing.

5 years healthcare experience

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, a normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
