Overview
General Summary of Duties
Christie Clinic's department of Radiology is seeking a full-time Radiology IT Administrator at the University clinic from Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm, with no night or weekend requirements. This position may require the ability to travel to other clinics, as needed, to support the department.
The Radiology IT Administrator is responsible for coordinating, maintaining, implementing, and supporting the information systems and technology used within the Radiology department. This role also provides support to other ancillary areas such as Lab, Cardiology, and Vein & Vascular as needed. The position includes system workflow training, troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of radiology‑related technologies.

- Technical System Support & Maintenance
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Radiology information systems, including PowerScribe, PACS, image storage systems, image viewers, EMR connectivity, DR/CR equipment, and other related applications (e.g., iCAD, DynaCad, SyngoVia, MUSE, Datamed, ISCV, Xeleris).
- Navigate and configure imaging modality equipment, including query/retrieve settings and troubleshooting.
- Receive imaging studies from external sources and upload them into PACS.
- Perform regular equipment inspections to ensure proper operation and safe working conditions.
- System Administration & Security
- Manage and monitor system security to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information.
- Create and manage user accounts, including IDs and passwords.
- Maintain detailed equipment records, including location, network settings, hardware configurations, installation dates, and upgrade histories.
- Review network infrastructure for hardware integrity and identify potential risks.
- Workflow, Quality, and Training
- Support and manage radiologist workflow, including dictation system performance.
- Perform daily system checks to confirm all radiology studies are completed and appropriately finalized. Report outstanding issues to the Radiology Manager or department head.
- Coordinate and conduct training sessions in collaboration with the Education and Training Manager for team members and providers.
- Assist Radiology staff with additional department projects as needed.
- Collaboration & Cross‑Department Support
- Serve as a primary liaison between Radiology, Information Systems, and other clinical departments to resolve system usage and troubleshooting needs.
- Partner with Information Systems to implement software updates, maintain PC and network hardware, and develop workstation configuration standards.
- Provide phone and in‑person technical support via the “Rad IT Hotline.”
- Maintain communication logs, follow-up files, and support tracking for Radiology staff.
- Report system issues, upgrade needs, and concerns to the Radiology Manager and/or Ancillary Director.
- Data Management & Backup Processes
- Understand how radiology software packages interrelate for backup and redundancy.
- Work with Information Systems to ensure backup processes, software distribution methods, and update mechanisms are functioning as intended
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registered Radiology Technologist or certification in IT related field
- Knowledge of radiology systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One-year experience with radiology technology systems.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting. Hearing, within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required. Must be able to work under pressure, multitask, and remain calm. Must be flexible with hours and be able to take call during off hours. This position teaches workflow to a variety of employees.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a normal office setting and may require working irregular hours.
