Overview
General Summary of Duties
Christie Clinic's department of Interventional Pain Management is seeking a PRN (as needed) RN Procedural at the University clinic with varied hours from Monday-Friday, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
Job Qualifications and Expectations
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.

Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.

Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.

Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.

Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.

Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.

Stock and maintain equipment, medications and crash carts.

Perform lab work prior to procedures, as needed.

Assist provider in pre-operative, operative and post operative procedures.

Monitor recovering and/or sedated patients.

Start IV’s and administer IV medications.

Perform and read EKG’s.

Preoperative Chart Review including lab work.

Perform related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU’s
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Professional nursing experience
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
-
Possession of an Illinois State Registered Nurse License
-
CPR Certification
-
ACLS Certification
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Ionizing radiation and medicinal preparations are also common. Other requirements may include traveling to hospitals for surgeries and working irregular hours.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
