General Summary of Duties

Christie Clinic's department of OB/GYN is seeking a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker(Sign-On Bonus Available) from Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at the University clinic. This position will allow for a 4 or 5 day work week and include 36 patient contact hours.

Duties include collaborating with the OB/GYN provider team to implement and manage individualized treatment plans for patients facing a variety of conditions, including but not limited to, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, phobias, and addictive behaviors.

A Master's in Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker license required. 3-5 years of post-licensure social work experience, experience working with perinatal populations and women's health issues preferred.

Job Qualifications and Expectations

  • Performs mental health evaluations for referred patients, including assessing the need for ongoing psychotherapy or other services.
  • Provides psychotherapy services for patients in a healthcare setting, using techniques and interventions appropriate to the patients’ needs.
  • Works with the patient to develop treatment plans, including specific goals and objectives to be addressed in psychotherapy.
  • With permission of the patient, collaborate with referring providers about patient diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of community resources (12 step groups, support services, educational resources, etc.) to ensure appropriate supplemental care or follow up services after termination
  • Demonstrates knowledge of community resources for higher levels of care when required for mental health stabilization. Knowledge of petitions and referrals to higher levels of care.
  • Provide educational and informational resources to patients and families to optimize resources and care.
  • Complete mandated reports of suspected abuse and/or neglect of minors, disabled adults, and seniors. Cooperate and collaborate with the investigating bodies for safe plans.
  • Visit notes and orders are completed and transmitted in a timely manner according to policy. Corrections to care plans are entered and transmitted according to the timeline.
  • Maintain information from patients in written and electronic form.
  • Perform related work as required.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Ionizing radiation and medicinal preparations are also common. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
