Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative/Administrative Coordinator - Convenient Care

Christie Clinic's department of Convenient Care is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative/Administrative Coordinator from 8:00am-8:00pm, 3 days/week, including weekend and holiday rotations at the Windsor, Urbana, and Danville clinics.
Duties include greeting patients, check in/check out process, clerical duties, collecting payments, and serving as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Duties also include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment and supervision over the Convenient Care staff and acting as a liaison between staff, patients and providers.
CNA, CMA, previous health care experience, and supervisory/training experience preferred.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Act as a time clock manager.
- Approve staff member vacation and time off requests. Request float staff as needed.
- Interview prospective staff members. Oversee the training of new staff members.
- Perform conflict control throughout the department.
- Conduct monthly staff meetings.
- Attend coordinator meetings, as required. Following coordinator meetings, inform employees on any new information pertinent to their position.
- Create and maintain budget.
- Conduct job evaluations and ensure that employees are up to date on department policies and procedures.
- Appease patient complaints.
- Prevent distractions within the department and keep employees on task.
- Oversee all operational functions of the office practice.
- Perform staff scheduling for all Convenient Care locations.
- Perform MA/PSR or nurse duties according to licensure as in job description for each role.
- Perform related work as required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements include working weekends, evenings, holidays, etc. as associated with working in Convenient Care.
