Christie Clinic's department of Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant(Sign-On Bonus Available) from Monday - Friday 7:00am-6:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. This position requires travel to the University, Fields, and Rantoul clinics, with an opportunity for a set location.

Duties include assisting Physical Therapist with specific physical therapy plan of care for patients. Graduation of an approved School of Physical Therapist Assistants and license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Other demands include the ability to use department equipment, the ability to facilitate prescribed treatment, including patient handling and the ability to communicate nature of treatment to patient and prepare provider's report. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to diseases, toxic substances, radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common in a clinic environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform treatments per Physical Therapist plan of care.
  • Direct and assist patients in therapeutic exercise, muscle re-education, therapeutic activities, and gait training per Physical Therapist plan of care.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities as directed by Physical Therapist.
  • Participate in coordination and communication of relevant patient information with the Physical Therapist and medical staff as needed.
  • Instruct patients in proper care and use of support and exercise programs.
  • Chart and report on patients' progress in timely fashion and per department standards.
  • Select most appropriate billing codes. Demonstrate understanding of insurance rules/regulations and billing practices.
  • Prepare written documentation, as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain department policies, procedures, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control.
  • Participate in clinical education programs.
  • Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Maintain department in clean and orderly fashion.
  • Perform related work as required.
