    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Good human relations and communication skills
    • Ability to be flexible to meet the needs and interests of children but also adhere to expectations of the program
    • Reliable transportation
    • Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to showing up for students and team members
    • Available to work all 7 weeks
    • Experience working with children 5-12 years of age (preferred)
    Application Deadline
    • This position will remain posted until the hiring process is complete; however, interviews may be conducted after February 18, 2026, so interested applicants should submit their materials ASAP to ensure consideration.
    Important Notes
    • This position is for the District's Kids Plus Summer Program, which will be located at TBD.
    • Summer Camp runs Monday through Thursday from June 3, 2026 through July 16, 2026.
    • Student Contact Hours will be from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
    • Staff will be expected to be on duty (and will be paid) from 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with a one hour unpaid lunch break.
    • Initial required training (paid) will be June 1, 2026 and June 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m at the Douglas Branch Library (504 E. Grove Street, Champaign, IL).
    • Recreation Leaders will be paid at the rate of $17.80/hour.
