Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a "Class B" CDL license and a school bus driver permit
  • Must have held valid driver’s license for the past three consecutive years and have a good driving record
  • Must be able to pass the annually required drug and alcohol screenings and physical examination
  • Must attend an initial 8-hour required course(s) of instruction for school bus drivers and the annual two-hour renewal
  • Have previous successful leadership experience
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, management, and customer service skills
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

Compensation

  • The entry level base salary for this position for a candidate with three (3) years of administrative/supervisory experience is expected to be approximately $71,500 plus highly competitive benefits, including 100% Board-paid IMRF contributions and 100% Board-paid employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance. There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance. Compensation for candidates with different years of experience will be adjusted accordingly.
