Dance Arts Instructor

Champaign Park District – Part-Time, PT2 (hours not to exceed 19 per week on average), Non-Exempt


About the Job:Bring your passion for dance and teaching to the Champaign Park District! As a Dance Arts Instructor, you’ll play a key role in shaping the next generation of dancers by providing high-quality instruction for students of all ages and skill levels. Working alongside the Dance Arts Supervisor, you’ll help develop and deliver engaging classes that inspire creativity, build confidence, and prepare students for exciting performances.


Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of dance techniques to children, youth, and adults.
  • Assist in planning and implementing the Dance Arts curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate class attendance and complete required reports.
  • Prepare students for the annual performance, including rehearsals and tech week.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to program growth.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and confidentiality in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least 10 years of intensive, continuous dance training.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and adults.
  • Ongoing professional development through specific training, education, and/or workshops.
