Sports Official Assignor
Champaign Park District – Part-Time 2, Non-Exempt (Hours not to exceed 19 per week on average), paid per game
Paid on a per game rate:
$8/game for youth and adult soccer
$8/game for youth and adult basketball
$5/game for youth and adult softball
$15/hour for required meetings
About the Job:The Sports Official Assignor plays a vital role in ensuring well-organized and fair games across Park District leagues. This position is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating sports officials while providing on-site mentorship and guidance throughout each season.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Hire, schedule, and evaluate officials for Park District leagues and events
- Provide on-site supervision and mentorship for officials at least twice per season
- Assist Sports Coordinators in recruiting and training new officials
- Organize and help conduct officiating clinics
- Recommend rule changes as needed and stay current with officiating trends
- Resolve conflicts professionally and maintain high standards of fairness
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive representation of the Park District
- Work nights and weekends as required
- Attend required meetings and training sessions

Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Certification in at least one sport (e.g., IHSA, ASA, USSF)
- Knowledge of rules for assigned sports
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and participants
- Proficiency with scheduling and communication software
