posted on Wednesday, Aprill 8, 2026CCHS has an open full-time salaried position for a Foster-care Coordinator.Please send your resume and a letter of interest to Mary Tiefenbrunn, Executive Director, at director@cuhumane.orgAbout the Role:The Foster-care Coordinator is responsible for developing and facilitating the humane society’s volunteer foster-care programs including long-and-short-term medical foster care; behavioral foster care; foster-to-adopt; and dog-day-out or overnight-stay programs.Key Responsibilities:- Recruit foster volunteers: Attend recruitment sessions with the CCHS Volunteer Coordinator to speak about the foster program. Review foster applications; conduct interviews with potential foster volunteers.- Provide training, guidance, and support for foster volunteers.- Develop and implement effective protocols and orientation/training materials for all foster programs and roles.- Work closely with the CCHS medical team to ensure that medical foster providers are well supported.- Facilitate the Dogs-Day-Out program: Scheduling outings; matching dogs with handlers; tracking departures and returns; documenting outings and canine behavior; capturing photos for social media.- Work with CCHS Adoption Staff and Event Coordinator on off-site adoption events and other events and activities that facilitate engagement with the public and pet adoption.- Keep all foster volunteer handbooks, waivers, and other forms up to date.Skills and Experience:- Animal handling and dog training skills- Experience training and/or supervising volunteers, employees, or teams- Customer service experience and communication skills- Project management and organizational skillsRequired: Experience working or volunteering in an animal shelter.Benefits:- Full-time salaried position; pay range: $36,000 - $42,000- Paid holidays, sick leave, and generous PTO- Employee health insurance, dental, and vision plans- Simple IRA with employer contributions- Employee Assistance Program (mental health and wellness support)How to Apply:Please send your resume and a letter of interest to:Mary Tiefenbrunn, Executive DirectorEmail: director@cuhumane.org
