This position in the CCHS Medical Lab involves examination and monitoring of animals for health and wellness; administering treatments and medications to shelter animals; fecal analysis; basic cytologies, etc. This is a full-time position. Hours will include weekend days, some evenings, and some holidays. Starting pay is $16.50/hour. Qualifications: Experience handling dogs and cats in a veterinary setting; Experience with other small animals, a plus, but not required; Experience with animal restraint, a plus, but not required; Good communication skills (in person and in writing); Good customer service skills recommended; Accurate data entry/computer skills required; Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail. Responsibilities include: Examination and monitoring of animals for health and wellness; Administering treatments and medications to shelter animals; Communicating about animal health with the Shelter Veterinarian, Shelter Manager, Medical staff and other departmental staff members as well as with volunteers, interns, and members of the public.
