The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.

This position is also open to candidates with active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.Rooming patients: Collecting pertinent information regarding the patient's chief complaint, family history, social history, surgical history, and medication reconciliation upon arrival for a patient visit. Maintain department specific competencies related to point of care testing, equipment handling, and specialty training. Prepare patient and supplies for department specific procedures Maintain par levels and order supplies for exam and procedure rooms. Assist with prep of patient for bone marrow biopsies. Assist with bone marrow biopsies, including preparing slides for cytology. Transport patients as needed to the ED, hospital floor or other area. Take supplies to CPD for cleaning; pick up supplies from CPD for use in department. Keep exam rooms and procedural areas stocked with the necessary supplies.

The compensation range for this position is $17.12per hour - $27.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
