Overview
Oversees ambulance operations in the West Division of Arrow Ambulances service areas. Contributes to the growth and success of ambulance service through marketing, staff selection, program development, ensures that quality patient care is provided and that profitability is maximized. Plans, organizes, leads, and controls in managing the performance of ambulances division. Sets a tone for the ambulance service that promotes the mission, vision and goals of the organization while promotion staff growth and professionalism. Responds when appropriate to emergency and nonemergency ambulance requests and handles daily operational issues. Works collaboratively with Director of Arrow Ambulance to develop budgets along with short- and long-range plans.
Responsibilities
- Provides input to the department, updates, and reviewing of policies and procedures.
- Works with the Director to develop, analyze, manage and monitor the capital and operating budgets
- Ensures compliance within the agreed upon standards.
- Provides input on the hiring of new employees
- Coach and mentor staff developing them into empowered, competent and motivated professional staff.
- Provides input on the discipline of the current staff.
- Develops expansion of new service areas
- Plans and organizes public relation visits to fire departments, nursing homes, dispatch centers, etc.
- Addresses all operational issues on a daily basis
- Performs all scheduling functions, assigns shifts and daily duties to ambulance staff
- Monitors staff, vehicle movement or posting, and will monitor enroute and response times during shifts.
- Submits orders for supplies and equipment.
- Provides input to the department, updates and reviewing of policies and procedures

Qualifications
Certifications:
- IL. Licensed Paramedic or
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) and
- Driver's License Class B/C Endorsement and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year and
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year and
- Hazardous Materials Awareness (HazMat) within 6 months and
- ICS-300: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months and
- Introduction to Emergency Response to Terrorism (ERT) within 6 months and
- ICS-400: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months and
- ICS-700: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months and
- ICS-100: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months and
- ICS-800: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months and
- ICS-200: National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 6 months and
Education:
- N/A
Work Experience:
- Paramedic or Nursing (PHRN) - 5 years
- Emergency or Healthcare Leadership - 3 years
