The Imaging Technician will complete processes related to ingestion, storage and availability of Radiology Images for patients. This position is key to ensuring timely transfer and processing of images from outside facilities to allow for transfer of critical and non-critical patients to Carle. This position will assist the Radiology team in preparing anonymized images for different teaching opportunities, daily routing of results and errors, process image transfer requests and patient account merges within several Radiology systems. Responsible for sending external electronically requested images\exams for continuum of patient care. Customer Service and attention to detail are extremely important in this position.
- Previous clerical work experience strongly preferred, but not required. And
- Prior exposure to imaging system and other healthcare computer applications preferred. And
- Experience with EPIC Radiant and Merge iConnect helpful but not required. And
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Carle EPIC Certification within 6 Months
Responsibilities
- Provide imaging support to the transfer center for ingestion of outside images into the enterprise archive for consults, critical, and non-critical referrals to Carle Health
- Work with Radiology images and systems, uploading digital images received electronically, or from other media to the patient chart and long term storage.
- Process email and fax requests for image transfers.
- Perform chart comparisons within Radiology systems to complete patient merges
- Monitor Radiology work queues and work through errors related to results routing issues.
- Work Daily Unread lists, In Basket errors and Work queues.
- Print departmental control sheets for outside locations
- Work Service Desk tickets related to image storage.
- Upon request, create anonymized discs or files for teaching purposes
- Assist in orientation, onboarding, and training of new staff members within the department

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $19.25per hour - $31.19per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
