Overview

The Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist provides financial and analytical support. This position assists with annual budgets, monthly activity costing, service line profitability, budgeting, budget variance analysis and other financial analysis. Activities include hands-on costing and budgeting, data manipulation, margin analysis, data analysis, pro forma preparation and support for Monthly Operating Reviews. This position supports the Vice President of Finance to assess SBU finance and produce P&L statements for each business unit in the east region of Carle Health.

Responsibilities

Interacts on a daily basis with the Managers, Budget and Service Line Directors and other leadership relating to financial issues of the entity.
  • Provides assistance to assigned department directors and managers in interpreting financial data, be responsible to develop and train hospital managerial staff, so they can effectively manage their departments.
  • Provides analytical reports for inclusion on monthly financial package.
  • Maintains and compiles financial metric data.
Provide financial analysis, interpretation of data, and assist in decision making processes of the leadership team.
  • Analyzes month end balances and perform analytical review for income and expense accounts.
  • Researches and prepares variance analysis and explanations.
  • Provides explanations of revenue and expense variances for inclusion in the financial statements.
  • Assists the Vice President of Finance to procure data for decision making
  • Supports clinical operations leaders with data to make patient-oriented decisions
Primary responsibility for working with regional leaders on successful completion of the entity’s, annual operating, and capital budgets.
  • Participates in coordinating, building, and reviewing annual operating budgets.
  • Participates in coordinating, building, and reviewing annual capital budgets
  • Develops reporting tools to alert senior management to critical areas of review and focused attention to improve profitability.
Supports patient care in the East Region of Carle Health by assuring reasonable margins and analysis of business lines
  • Participates as appropriate in improvements to accounting systems and processes.
  • Meets with hospital management to review financial reports and strengthen the relationship between Clinical and Financial Operations
Provides clear analysis of financial information to support decision-making Facilitates development of information for operating reviews, budget meetings, and other financial discussions Analyzes data to provide recommendations to business leaders in service of patient care

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $47.88per hour - $82.35per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
