The role is ideal for a scientist who has experience in creating hair care products (shampoo, conditioners, gels), foundations, lotions, sunscreens or other related personal care products. The R&D Chemist will have the opportunity to contribute their skills and new ideas toward the growth of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Formulating, research, testing, stability, troubleshooting in regard to the development of new personal care products
• Developing batches from scratch, improving on existing batches of hair care products
• Creative problem solving and collaborations, in particular with the Raw Materials team, to identify and utilize unique raw materials in new products and when updating existing products
• Juggling multiple projects with ease
• Easily interacting and collaborating with team members as well as the pilot plant to ensure easy scale up of products
• Strictly adhering to a cGMP environment and following necessary safety protocols

Qualifications for the Formulation Chemist:

• 2+ years of Industry experience working with personal care or cosmetics products- developing or adjusting formulations or doing batch work offering an understanding of formulation of surfactant and polymer systems
• Expertise in chemistry, understanding surface-interface properties and surface characterization
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to share and teach in the area of expertise
• Creativity and self-motivated that will prove successful in an environment where one needs to be able to think out of the box

Education Requirements:

• A BS or MS in Chemistry, Biology or Cosmetic Science or related field
