Beauty Quest Group is a leading integrated manufacturer and marketer of hair care products from branded and private label hair care, color, and styling products to professional salons and specialty retailers.

Your Role

The ideal candidate will offer both business strategy leadership and hands on management and will have experience in a multi-national setting. The Assistant Controller will lead the GL and Transactional Accounting teams, to ensure accurate financial reporting and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a small company setting, building processes and systems from the ground up and is eager to partner with key team members to offer sound advice, build organizational efficiencies and drive business growth. Current initiatives include implementation of a new ERP system, and driving accounting process improvements and efficiencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for completing timely and accurate monthly and year-end close processes, including:
  • Manage the close calendar
  • Validate the sub modules closure and reconciled to the GL.
  • Review and close all legal entity ledgers
  • Close and consolidate U.S. and foreign entities financials
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts by country and consolidated.
  • Analyze income statement accounts by country and compare to budgets.
  • Ensure proper cutoff on items affecting inter-period allocation.
  • Review complex GAAP issues as required and provide communications of emerging issues.
  • Distribute department level expense information to the each department.
  • Maintain the Chart of Accounts and assure that the system generated financial statements sync the COA.
  • Preparation of external and internal audit and regulatory requests as required.
  • Monthly, quarterly and annually preparation of draft consolidated and country financial statements.
  • Manage staff accountant(s)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years public accounting experience.
  • 3+ years experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with account reconciliations, general ledger, accounts payable, payroll reconciliations and reporting
  • Thorough and current knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong consolidation and currency translation experience.
  • Experience in a related industry and NetSuite a plus
