Reports To: Shift Supervisor
Status: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Summary: Assists and supports supervisor in coordinating activities of production technicians engaged in operation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, inspecting, housekeeping, and other processes in manufacturing liquid filters.
Salary Information:
- Minimum Hiring Rate: $25.30/hour Maximum Hiring Rate: $27.00/hour
- Off shift premium: $0.75/hour
- Monthly Bonus opportunities up to 9% of base monthly pay

Hours: 2nd Shift - 2:45 pm - 11:00 pm
Supervisory Responsibilities: Instructs up to 10 operators working on the line. Carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assigns workers to work stations to meet production requirements.
- Assists with the identification and resolution of production related quality and efficiency issues.
- Communicates and escalates production process, equipment, materials, or personnel problems or concerns as appropriate in an effective, professional, and timely manner.
- Bi-Weekly check in for new hire trainees with trainee and PGT to document progress and additional training requirement to obtain proper certifications.
- Monitors production and adjusts work assignments, supply of material, and machine operation when necessary.
- Assists in the troubleshooting and repair of machinery to address equipment, production, quality and safety issues.
- Escalates equipment, production, quality and safety issues to Shift Supervisors and other AFSI personnel as appropriate.
- Confers with supervisor to receive instructions and exchange production-related information.
- May be required to assume some Shift Supervisor responsibilities temporarily, acting in a back- up role during a Supervisor absence.
- Tests random samples of filters, using various test equipment, to verify filters meet specifications.
- Ensures employee safety by advocating safe behavior through the enforcement of safety policies and procedures Trains workers in equipment operation.
- Provides performance management for direct reports through the clear communication of expectations; provides timely written and verbal feedback including discipline, positive recognition, and identifies employee development opportunities.
- Communicates daily and long term goals to employees
- “Breaking people out” – Replaces line workers when they take breaks throughout their shift.
- Maintains flexibility in work assignments and assists others as appropriate.
- Works in a safe manner, following all safety policies and procedures while keeping in mind other’s safety as well.
- Reports any accidents and potentially unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to appropriate supervisor and makes appropriate safety contacts with the individual(s).
- Ensures Six S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety) and general housekeeping practices.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills:
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence; Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Mathematical Skills:
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Email Internet software, Infinity and Production Related Software.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current Forklift license.
- Other Skills and Abilities:
Is able to handle multiple assignments at once and communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.
Must be able to work scheduled shift, possible weekends, and overtime as needed.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
