Posted on Dec 5, 2025

Meyer Capel, one of the most diversified firms in Champaign and downstate Illinois, is seeking 3L (Class of 2026) or 2L (Class of 2027) for part-time work in-person at its Champaign office (306 W. Church St., Champaign, IL 61820) during the university’s spring 2026 semester. Hours during the academic school year are approximately 12-15 hours per week (negotiable), worked in 4 hour (or more) blocks of time. There may be a possibility of offering continued employment after the spring 2026 semester concludes, though availability to continue working after spring 2026 is not a requirement for this position.

Seasonal associates assist the firm's attorneys in handling research projects, drafting pleadings, contracts, and various other documents. Seasonal associates will be exposed to a wide range of practice areas (e.g., litigation, transactional, estate/trust, real estate, business/corporate, etc.). As time permits, seasonal associates are also encouraged to sit in on client meetings, depositions, court hearings, real estate closings, estate plan signings, etc., in an effort to gain experience related to the practice of law and the business of private legal practice. This position is a terrific opportunity for students interested in private practice at a mid-sized firm that values its clients, staff, and culture.
